TJ Mongers

With the level of risk that the US State Dept has listed for Mexico due to the Cartel. Have alot of US monger stopped making the trip to TJ, specifically HK? Maybe there isn't much risk of cartel there due to its proximity to the US but I could be wrong.

@booty_lover92 I will play along and comment on your discussion. Google says: “Anyone that tells you that the narcos are some sort of danger or threat to clientele is simply lying. Generally speaking, the narcos have a hand in bars, brothels and hotels that handle these types of business which means they fiercely protect clients from danger because that’s where the money is. It is literally the opposite of the leftist propaganda you will be fed. There is no one safer than a tourist looking to drop money in a narco area within Mexico. As long as you aren’t actively looking for trouble, you will have no problem.” To answer your questions: Q: With the level of risk that the US State Dept has listed for Mexico due to the Cartel. Have alot of US monger stopped making the trip to TJ, specifically HK? A: No, only a few naive people are scared by the US government political propaganda. There were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, Epstein didn’t kill himself, there is no Santa, neither tooth fair, boogeyman…. With the right mindset and realistic expectations, most heterosexual men will have a good time at Hong Kong because it is, according to Krusty, the Happiest Place on Earth. https://tuscl.net/photo.php?id=1401 If you behave like a Gentlemen you will be treated like a gentleman, if you behave like a ugly American Tourist you will be treated accordingly. Just use common sense don’t be flashing cash don’t travel outside the safe Zona Norte, don’t drink or do drugs. Just be careful out there, like if you were visiting the South, South Central Los Angeles, Compton California, Detroit etc etc Most people in Tijuana are regular people like you and everyone else in the world, nice, welcoming and helpful. And traveling to Tijuana is very affordable. Don’t worry be happy. Have a nice trip. :D

@CJ:. who is this "Google" of whom you speak? And where did he get the idea that "leftist propaganda" would be giving travel advice?

These warnings have existed for years. Is there danger in TJ? Absolutely! Is there danger in LA? Absolutely! Just pay attention to your surroundings, and take taxi from border to entrance to HK Club. Bad things can happen anywhere. Just don't do things to increase risk. And, as has already been stated, there are various parties in TJ with an interest in continuous tourism.

I'll be in Tijuana Monday and I'll carefully inspect the situation.

While CJ can often be annoying with his posts, he does make a good point in this thread. The cartels, as a rule, do not touch the Zona Norte clubs. They know the clubs produce a lot of revenue for them and realize if shootings or other violent activity happens inside them, the cash flow will drastically dry up fast. That's something they don't want to happen; it's part of their mindset that dictates they do not harm American tourists. We are NOT the targets of the cartels. I've said this before, and I'll say it again: if you use common sense, you will not have any problems inside Zona Norte. Don't get drunk, don't use drugs, and don't talk with anyone who wants to take you to a spot outside Zona Norte. In other words, don't do anything that draws attention upon you and makes you a mark. It's the same approach you would take in big cities in the U.S. and other countries - don't look trouble and it won't come to you.

^I will also add this: if you stay within Zona Norte, Zona Centro, or Zona Rio (the tourist areas), you're fine. And if your hotel room is in Centro or Rio, take a taxi to and from Zona Norte, especially at night.

Most of you are absolutely correct in asserting, that when you travel in tourist zones you aren't a target, however innocent bystanders do occasionally get caught in the crossfire, and even the cartels have their rogue elements, so when you are close to a danger zone you do have some risk, and you should proceed appropriately, what I won't do is tell anyone they should or shouldn't visit Mexico, I have been there many times and find the country to be a great place for so many reasons. Only you can decide how much risk is too much, for your taste, and although I have never been in Tijuana I have traveled extensively throughout Mexico, and just being proactive and paying attention to what is going on, I have never had a run in more serious than a crooked Mexican cop looking for a bribe.

If the US and Mexico were serious about decreasing cartel violence along the border, they would just build more brothels and casinos in Matamoros and Ciudad Juarez.

Here's the difference between Tijuana and Miami at this time: Tj: unless you go looking for trouble, you'll be safe. No one will hold you at gunpoint in your hotel room, a gas station, or 7-11. Miami (and most other cities with Democrats at the helm) you WILL be held at gunpoint in these places by some dangerous illegal or thug. If you live in a sanctuary city, leave now for the relative safety of el Salvador or Honduras.

Uh, Mickey, check your facts, I'm pretty sure Miami has a Republican mayor. Don't be an ignorant liberal. Facts matter.

Jascol, you just made my point eloquently. We take a risk any time we step outside our homes, whether it's going to work, going shopping, or going to an appointment. Anything can happen anywhere at any time, but that doesn't mean we should stop living our lives. If you just practice common sense and be aware of your surroundings, you shouldn't have issues. This applies both in America and around the world.
