This is what I have always feared for this country.
Are we so incapable of monitoring ourselves and our prosterity that we can not uphold sacred freedoms?
Words can not describe how angry I am at Republicans and conservatives over this. I would most likely get banned if I said what I truly wanted to.
I will say this: Nobody has the right to tell adults what they should and should not consume in the matter of VICTIMLESS VICES. Regulations is one thing, and I don't like it, but total bans is literally a violation of 1st Amendment rights.
This is where the line is crossed for me. You can be a holier than thou conservative all you want to, but this is a blatant attack of my rights and everyone else's rights regardless of if they watch porn or not.
Enacting YOUR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS ON OTHERS is the problem. People have to come to God of their own accord. All this will do is actually have the opposite effect. Most normies aren't aware of this, but the Big Porn corporations actually do keep most of the worst filth off their platforms (beastiality, etc.)
All these porn regulations are doing to steering people to more extreme sites that have porn. Has anyone ever heard of the Dark Web? Or maybe went to foreign sites that aren't US based. Onlyfans still magically works fine without all of this, ever wonder why ?
I wanted to post this in Articles but I can't because the rules say you can't post an article from off site.

Almost certainly just grandstanding. The courts would strike it down if it was passed.

I copied this from a quick Google search:
In Texas, commercial websites with a high proportion of sexually explicit content are required to verify that users are 18 or older to view the content. This age-verification requirement was upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court in June 2025, and it can be met through methods such as submitting digital ID, uploading government-issued identification, or using a bank to verify age.

Prohibiting porn for adults has been ruled to be a violation of the 1st Amendment. Pornhub blocks states that require websites to verify someone is an adult. They don't want the legal liability that comes with trying to comply with that requirement.

Funny that Michigan legalized recreational cannabis but wants to ban porn. Both are activities that have their pros and cons but should be left to adults to decide what they want to consume. Both also bring in significant tax revenue.

^^Porn is legal, obscenity is not. Still a fine line no one can define.

Unfortunately, porn is not a victimless vice, and I say this as a guy who loves porn. Do a deep dive on former porn star confessions, the truth about pornhub, etc., and you will not walk away feeling good about your porn consumption.

@gammanu95 thats one of those things like how many prostitutes sex workers are trafficked, but it doesnt mean they are by default or that working their job requires them to be trafficked.
So if pornstars are for instance abused by managers or coworkers… that doesnt mean its porn that needs to be banned it just means there needs to be resources or a process in place to hold the abusers accountable.
The truth is that porn will likely pay more than working a low paying retail job, it can potentially even make you a millionaire, and it can definitely get you attention and recognition which a lot of people want nowadays.
A lot of guys dont want to marry nowadays, a big part of the reason is the divorce laws, child support laws, etc. so whereas before, a desperate/poor woman could try to find a rich man to marry, and survive that way, now the best she can hope for is some sort of temporary arrangement where rich guys pay her for sexual encounters, or she can try tricking a guy to get her pregnant than pursue child support.
If you truly want to reduce porn and reduce the % of women going into sex work, the first thing that needs to be done is completely eliminating divorce laws and child support and alimony and even eliminating the requirement that people have to financially support an immigrant they are marrying. If we really want to reduce porn and prostitution, that is one way to start.

And a regulation tax only serves as further incentive to keep things underground. It has to be done very carefully. A 10% or under tax, people will do things legally but if you start taxing too high people will just do things illegally.
